Popular Courses-

Top Reasons to Choose BDS Course over MBBS

1)  Course Fees – The most important factor than distinguishes MBBS and BDS course is the cost of the education. BDS cost is much less than that of MBBS course.BDS degree is cost effectiive and offeres lucrative career choices.

2)  Course Duration is less – It takes less time to complete undergraduate degree in dental surgery than MBBS as the BDS course duration is  5 years whereas MBBS course duration is 5.5 years.

3)  Admission is Easier- BDS is much easier than MBBS as the demand for the former is comparatively less than the latter. There are many recognized dental colleges with teaching hospital offering BDS Course.

4)  Availability of Seats – In order to get a merit seat for MBBS course, you must have a high score in  entrance exams as there is a huge competition for MBBS course. Whereas it ois much easier to get a seat under merit for BDS Course as the competition is low and any student with average marks can get a seat in BDS course.

5)  No need for higher studies- Bachelor of dental surgery is itself a specialized degree whereas you have to pursue MD/MS after MBBS for specializations as MBBS degree restricts you to a general phycisian. In order to be a specialized doctor you have to have a postgraduate degree in any of the specializations.

6)  Employment Opportunities- As soon as you completed your BDS degree and hold a BDS degree in hand ,you can start working a  a dentist.Whereas to be employable you wil have to do MD/MS after MBBS.

7)  Stress Free job – Dentistry is a stress free job. Compared to MBBS doctor, dentists have no emergency calls as tooth related disease or infections can be treated as directed by the denstists and are not life threatening problems. It’s a very good career option for female students.

8)  Highly Lucrative Profession – A career in BDS IS HIGHLY Lucrative. The actual earning of MBBS doctors starts very late whereas dentist starts enjoying their earnings soon after the completion of the BDS course.
